What the AI metadata checker tells you
The checker identifies supported metadata containers: JPEG APP blocks, PNG text and credential chunks, WebP metadata, and recognized MP4/MOV boxes. Each result shows a block name, its byte size in the downloadable report, and the planned cleaning action.
A metadata block can contain ordinary editing information as well as AI-related fields. Finding XMP, EXIF or Content Credentials is not a verdict that a picture was generated by AI. This checker does not validate cryptographic signatures, identify every individual tag, or predict a platform decision.
Inspect a file without changing it
- Choose your image cleaning mode before adding files. Privacy clean is the default; Keep camera EXIF retains the complete EXIF block.
- Drop a final exported file into the workspace. Inspection runs locally and leaves the original untouched.
- Expand View inspection to see the detected containers and which ones would be removed.
- If you want a cleaned copy, click Clean file. Download the copy and its verification report after processing.
How to read an empty result
No removable metadata found means the parser found no blocks it is configured to remove. It does not mean that the file is human-made, free of invisible watermarks, or guaranteed to avoid a social-platform label.
If you are comparing exports, inspect each exported file separately. Taking a screenshot, sending a photo through a messenger, or exporting from another editor can change its metadata. The results describe the file you selected, not its whole history.
Common questions
Is this an AI image detector?
No. It inspects file structure. It does not analyze the scene, calculate an AI probability or detect SynthID.
Does inspection remove anything?
No. The selected file is read in your browser. A separate Clean file action creates a new copy.
Can I see the full prompt or GPS coordinates?
This release lists metadata containers and PNG text field names, not a full tag tree or decoded private values.
