Remove a small visible watermark
- Choose a still JPG, PNG or WebP image that you own or have permission to edit. The editor accepts up to 12 MB and 4 megapixels, with a maximum of 8,192 pixels on either side.
- Use the brush or box to select the complete mark and a narrow margin. Use the eraser or Undo to refine the selection. Coordinate inputs are available for keyboard selection.
- Run the free local repair. It fills the selected area using nearby image information, with no upload or account.
- Switch between Original and Repaired, check the detail, and download a separate PNG. Return to the selection if the first attempt needs adjustment.
Local repair and paid AI repair
Local repair works best for small marks on relatively smooth backgrounds. Large letters across faces, fine patterns, fences or detailed textures can leave blurred or repeated areas. Keep the selection below 20% of the image.
When available, paid AI repair is a separate cloud option for more complex backgrounds. Choosing it sends the image and selection through our service to Replicate. It requires a signed-in account, an active monthly plan and an available credit. Check the account and tool status before purchasing; closed features do not accept new paid jobs.
AI repair reconstructs the selected region and can invent detail. It is not a promise to recover the pixels that originally existed behind a mark. Compare the result before using it.
Starting a paid repair also saves its original image and selection in this browser for a one-hour recovery window, with at most three saved repairs per account. Free local repair does not create these saved drafts. Closing the tab does not clear a paid recovery draft.
What changes in the downloaded image
The editor keeps the original dimensions and applies the repaired pixels inside your selection. Outside that selection, it uses the original browser-decoded pixels. The original transparency values are retained when compositing the result.
Every repaired download is a new PNG. Browser decoding and color handling can change the representation of the source file. This is a pixel-editing workflow; it does not have the metadata cleaner’s encoded-media preservation guarantee.
Visible marks are different from SynthID
A corner logo, text overlay or visible AI badge is part of the picture you can select. A platform label beside an existing post belongs to the platform and cannot be changed by this editor.
SynthID is an invisible watermark embedded in media. Removing a visible badge does not prove that SynthID is absent. This editor does not detect SynthID, and verified SynthID removal is not included in the paid plans.
Common questions
Can I use the watermark remover for free?
Yes. The local repair runs in your browser without a signup or subscription. When available, cloud AI repair is optional and uses paid monthly credits. The account page shows whether checkout and processing are open.
Will my image be uploaded automatically?
No. Choosing an image and running local repair stays on your device. An upload starts only when you explicitly choose paid AI repair and have access to that feature.
Can this remove a watermark from video?
This editor repairs still images only. The separate video tool cleans supported MP4/MOV metadata; it does not reconstruct video pixels or remove visible video logos.
What if the watermark covers an important detail?
Keep the original and compare carefully. Both local and AI repair can produce artifacts, and reconstructed text or facial detail may be inaccurate. A smaller selection can help, but a perfect recovery is not guaranteed.
